Please note that unless otherwise specified you must be willing to commute to the Dearborn, Michigan area and work a 9-5 style work-week. We do have positions that require evening/night work as well along with some that are a remote-style "work from home or other" setup.

Webmaster
Hours: Flexible - Part or Full Time
Location: Data Center - Remote

Skills Required:
  • Complete understanding of CSS/XHTML
  • Cross browser CSS/XHTML experience
  • Familiarity with scripting as it pertains to web design (simple Javascript etc)
  • SEO experience/ideas
  • Good writing skills
  • General graphical and very good visual skills (graphic design is not a necessity but good visual skills is)

Duties: Continue development and maintenance of the NEXCESS.NET suite of sites. Our sites need constant updating in the form of promotions, press releases, new content for products, news blurbs and other perpetually changing content. Design and develop new sites for clients in which we act as the main development firm.

Web Developer · Software Engineer
Hours: Flexible - Full Time
Location: Data Center (Dearborn, MI, possibly Ann Arbor, MI)
Salary: Based on skills / experience (neg.)
Skills Required:
  • 3+ years of PHP experience:
    • Object oriented & procedural techniques
    • PHP v4 and v5 experience
    • Template system familiarity (Smarty, etc)
    • Framework experience is a plus (Symfony, CakePHP, etc)
  • 3+ years of SQL (MySQL preferably) experience:
    • Query optimization
    • DB design & tuning
  • Complete understanding of CSS/XHTML
  • Cross browser CSS/XHTML experience
  • Familiarity with scripting languages & new technologies:
    • Javascript
    • Bash
    • AJAX
    • Flash ActionScript a BIG plus -- or willingness to learn
  • General knowledge of software development practices and tools:
    • Version control - CVS/SVN
    • Testing framework experience a plus (PHPUnit etc)
  • STRONG communication & organization skills
  • Willingness to learn MANY new things as each project will require
  • You must LOVE programming PHP/MySQL apps for this job or it just won't work as this is a long term position with many opportunities

Duties: Develop PHP/MySQL applications which interface to Flash applications. Work with outside Flash developers on integration and overall system design for web based applications. Provide APIs for Flash developers on a per-project basis. This job will have you jumping between many projects of differing contexts so a broad background and good multi-tasking skills is a huge plus.
